New Delhi: Today morning some select alecks managed to breach the defences of the most ubiquitous social platforms gaining access to the Information and Broadcast Ministry handle. The Ministry’s official Twitter account “very briefly compromised, on Wednesday, January 12 reported a close source.
The account was renamed as ‘Elon Musk’ be hackers saw some gibberish posts on the timeline which were later deleted as the account was restored almost after half an hour. Kanchan Gupta Senior Adviser of the Ministry confirmed the restoration of security.
An analogy with the recent breach of the Twitter accounts of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Mann Deshi Mahila Bank have surfaced. Sources claim the proposed actions of the alecks was similar in the above case. Inquisitiveness has developed as similar use of fonts and content posted has been observed in the incident reported today.
A similar breach was reported a month ago, as PM Modi’s account was hacked for a brief period where the hackers through a tweet promoted cryptocurrency.
