NEW DELHI: Indian school in South Delhi’s Sadiq Nagar was vacated on Wednesday morning following an email from an unknown sender with a threat about a bomb on the premises.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad along with the dog squad were immediately mobilized, the police said.
As per the information given to the police, the email was received around 10:49 am. “Information was shared telephonically by Brijesh from the Indian School, BRT Road regarding receipt of an email regarding bombs planted in the school. The email was received today morning. The school has been evacuated and a thorough check is being done by bomb squad and AS check teams,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary said interacting with the reporters.
Subsequently, a message was sent to the parents to pick up their kids from school. “On account of some unexpected security reasons, we are having to close school early. Kindly arrange to pick up your ward as per the details. The school will resume as usual tomorrow.”– the message read.
As of now the campus has been vacated and the search for the bomb is on.
