Kolathu James Leo, 42, an Indian national and criminal intimidation accused who allegedly caused chaos on a Singapore-bound flight from Sydney. Physical reports say that Leo not only disrupted the flight but also threatened to kill a male crew member.

This incident occurred on February 27 aboard a Scoot flight. Leaving passengers and crew members shaking, Léo reportedly got drunk and started shouting mid-flight. But one of the aggressive actions led by Mr. Whaid was when he tried to rip apart a pocket of a seat and struck the seat in front of him. However, according to Leo, the intervention from the cabin crew only emboldened his threats and physical aggression.

He has been charged with a number of offences – including using criminal force against a flight attendant and breaching in-flight discipline. This has caused a risk to order and safety on board.

Also, a police spokesperson told The Sun that he added that Leo became more and more aggressive and was restrained by the cabin crew for the rest of the flight. He was arrested by the airport police of Singapore’s Changi Airport upon landing.

The incidents on the flights have highlighted how flight crews face these challenges in ensuring passenger safety, with incidents of disruptive behaviour on flights. Airline intoxication and dishonourable actions are forbidden by many fleets because they need to preserve in-flight protection due to their strict policies.

In Singapore, the consequences for criminal intimidation and disorderly conduct on a flight are serious and Leo is expected to face legal proceedings. He could be fined heavily and spent time in jail if convicted.

It is a reminder of the need for stricter enforcement of aircraft safety rules, and a necessity that flight staff needs to be ready to handle something like this.
