The Indian Navy has successfully tested the BrahMos Missile. This missile was tested on Sunday at the INS Mormugao ship, where the frontline of the Indian Navy had guided this process. It is still unknown to the media which location the test fire of this missile took place.
Indian Navy tweeted
The Navy Officials said about the missile test that “INS Mormugao, the latest guided-missile destroyer, successfully hit bulls-eye during her maiden supersonic BrahMos cruise missile firing. The ship and her potent weapon, both indigenous, mark another shining symbol of ‘AatmaNirbharta’ and Indian Navy’s firepower at sea.”
The BrahMos missile is a supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, airplanes, or land platforms. It travels at an incredible speed of 2.8 Mach, nearly three times the speed of sound.
The BrahMos missile is manufactured by BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between India and Russia, and is also exported by India. India signed a deal worth $375 million with the Philippines in January last year to deliver three missile batteries.
