Vishakhapatnam: Indian Navy successfully test-fired the BrahMos missile from its warship in the Bay of Bengal, a significant development that demonstrates India’s growing military capabilities.
“An Indian Navy destroyer of IN Eastern Fleet carried out successful firing of BrahMos missile in the Bay of Bengal. The missile achieved all mission objectives”, wrote Spokesperson Indian Navy on Twitter.
The BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or land platforms. It has a range of up to 290 kilometers and can fly at speeds of up to Mach 2.8, which is nearly three times the speed of sound.
The BrahMos missile is a potent weapon that can be used against a variety of targets, including ships, aircraft, and land-based installations. It is also a highly accurate missile, which makes it ideal for precision strikes.
The Indian Navy‘s successful test-firing of the missile is a clear indication that India is committed to developing and maintaining a strong naval force. It is also a signal to India’s adversaries that India is capable of defending itself against any threat.
In addition to its military significance, the successful test-firing of the BrahMos missile is also a boost to India’s domestic defense industry. The BrahMos missile is jointly developed and produced by India and Russia, and its successful test-firing demonstrates the capabilities of Indian defense companies.
