The Government of India has strongly refuted claims that billionaire Elon Musk was included in a recent phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former president of the US Donald Trump. Eclipsing the issue on Saturday, the Ministry of External Affairs has made it clear that the call entailed two leaders only and has disregarded the allegations that a third party was called.
The external affairs ministry press secretary Randhir Jaiswal commented on the media report and said that the discussion that took place on March 24 was between Modi and Trump alone. He repeated the fact that the call was a chance of both leaders to share their opinions regarding the situation in West Asia, which changes constantly, especially in the light of the increasing geopolitical tensions.
Sources close to the conversation inform that no other person was involved in the conversation. The Prime Minister talked to President Trump only. There was no one else involved in the discussion, which is a direct refutation of the previous statements, according to a source.
The contentious report had characterized the alleged appearance of Musk as being unusual and this cast doubt on the presence of a personal citizen in a top-tier diplomacy during a delicate time. Nonetheless, authorities have pointed out that these are false and baseless.
The phone call, which is said to have been made by Trump, was aimed at pushing the issues of the region, such as the necessity to restore peace in West Asia. In the discussion, Modi pointed out the stability in the region as something that India supports and emphasized the need to ensure the key global trade routes are open and secure like the Strait of Hormuz.
