Poonch– In a collaborative effort, Romeo Force of the Indian Army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Poonch Police successfully neutralized a cache of 61 explosives, including 11 live bombs, in Seri Chowana village located in the Jammu and Kashmir region. This joint operation was meticulously executed to counter potential acts of violence and terrorism, ensuring public safety.

The operation, captured in a video shared by reports, is a testament to the unwavering dedication of security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the area. Speaking about the situation, DGP Dilbag Singh of Jammu and Kashmir emphasized that despite the efforts of Pakistani agencies to sustain a fading militancy, the anti-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) remains effective. While India and Pakistan have largely adhered to the ceasefire agreement along the LoC, Singh acknowledged that there have been isolated instances of terrorist infiltration attempts.

Singh further highlighted that while some infiltration attempts have been successful, the number of terrorists managing to cross over has been minimal. The director general of police underscored the ongoing efforts to counter such activities and ensure the region’s security. Several similar attempts have been thwarted in the past, while a few infiltrations in the Poonch-Rajouri area resulted in attacks on civilians and security personnel. Consequently, ongoing operations are focused on apprehending the infiltrators and preventing further plots.

Romeo Force and the SOG in Seri Chowana village successful operation demonstrate the security forces’ commitment to dismantling threats and maintaining public safety in the region. Despite intermittent infiltration attempts, the anti-infiltration grid remains vigilant, actively countering such activities and thwarting potential acts of terrorism.
