New Delhi: India recorded 5,747 fresh infections in the past 24 hours taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,45,28,524. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 5,618 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,53,374. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.69 per cent while the weekly positivity rate stood at 1.74 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 46,848 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise by 100 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 29 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,302. The fatalities include 13 deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
With the administration of 23,92,530 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 216.41 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the updated data, more than 203.03 crore (2,03,03,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 3.83 Cr (3,83,09,010) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,40,211 infected samples. So far, 89.12 crore tests have been conducted.
