New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 curve presented a sustained decline, as the MoHFW reported 1,00,636 fresh cases. With this the country’s infection tally rose to 2,89,09,975 according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.
With a recovery rate of 93.94 percent, 1,74,399 individuals recuperated in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 2,71,59,180. There was also a minute decline in the number of deaths.
The number of active cases has reduced to 14,01,609 accounting for 4.85 percent of the total number of cases. The active cases recorded a decline by 76,190 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.21 percent reported 2427 deaths, taking the cumulative death toll to 3,49,186 .
Delhi Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot provides financial assistance of Rs 1crore to family of lab technicians who died of COVID-19 last year, reported in an official statement.
ICMR reported the testing of 15,87,589 infected samples in a single day. As per MoHFW, 13,90,916 individuals were shielded from the novel virus in the past 24 hours. With this count, the country’s total vaccine administrations rose to 23,27,86,482 since the initiation of the national inoculation drive.
