New Delhi: India continues to record a dip in its caseload today. A total of 8,864 new cases of SARS-CoV2 were noticed bringing the national tally to 1,09,25,311.
The active caseload currently stands at 1.39 Lakhs accounting for 1.28% percent of India’s total positive cases. According to MoHFW, 11,546 were discharged following treatment, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,06,30,892.
The fatality rate remains below 100 for the tenth time this month, as only 72 succumbed to death due to the deadly virus. The total deceased count stands at 1,55,840 in the past 24 hours.
COVID Statistics breakdown
Kerala observed a fall in its confirmed cases, reporting the maximum number of single-day recoveries.Along the western coast, Maharashtra also records a fall in its caseload to 3,365.Both the states account for 77% of India’s total active cases.
Meanwhile, 26 new cases and 24 convalesced in Chandigarh. Arunachal Pradesh presents a ratio of 1:1 between the fresh cases and recoveries.
As per ICMR, 6,15,664 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
COVID Vaccination Drive
As per the mega vaccination drive, 82,85,295 individuals have been shielded against the novel virus. FLW’s vaccination program began a little later on the 2nd of February.
The country is witnessing a progressive increase in the vaccination day by day. On the whole, 10 states account for 69% of total beneficiaries vaccinated to date.
The booster dose program was conducted yesterday.
According to PIB, a total of 85,16,385 vaccines were administered till 6 pm yesterday. 61,54,894 HCW were shielded. Out of which 60,57,162 got their first dose and 97,732 received the booster dose. 23,61,491 Front Line Workers were administered the dose. No cases of severe AEFI/serious conditions/ death are attributable to vaccination to date.
