New Delhi: India recorded 38,628 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported. Meanwhile, Nationwide over 50 crore people have been vaccinated according to the latest data released by the government.
The recovery rate at 97.37 percent accounted for 40,017 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,10,55,861. The daily positivity rate at 2.21 per cent; less than 3 per cent for the last 12 days.
The active caseload stands at 4,12,153 accounting for 1.29 per cent of the total number of cases. 2006 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 617 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,27,371.
The vaccine production in the country has been increased from 2.5 lakh doses per day to around 40 lakh doses per day, said Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State (MoS) for Health on Friday.
With India crossing the 50-crore mark on Friday in the number of Covid vaccine doses administered, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted the country’s fight against the pandemic has received a “strong impetus”.
Under the national vaccination drive, 49,55,138 beneficiaries were immunized in the last 24 hours. So far 50.10 crore beneficiaries have been vaccinated.
