New Delhi: India recorded 32,937 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported. Meanwhile, Kerala, continues to top the states in most number of daily Covid cases as per the health report.

The recovery rate at 97.48 percent accounted for 35,909 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,14,11,924. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.79 per cent, less than 3 per cent for the 21st consecutive day.

The active caseload stands at 3,81,947accounting for 1.19  percent of the total number of cases. Active cases reported a decline by 3,389 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 417 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,31,642.

Kerala, continues to top the states in most number of daily Covid cases, reported 18,582 new infections pushing the total count to 36.69 lakh. It also observed 102 deaths, taking the cumulative count to 18,601.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackery on Sunday said the COVID-19 pandemic took everyone to “pre-independence days”, and appealed to people to take the pledge to make the state and the country free of the disease.

Over 54.58 crore beneficiaries have been immunized against the novel virus. In the past 24 hours 17,43,114 individuals were vaccinated under the nationwide vaccination program.
