New Delhi: Amid fourth wave fears, India registered 3,157 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 5% lower than yesterday the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. It brings the total caseload to 4,30,82,345. India’s active caseload stands at 19,500, while active cases stand at 0.05 per cent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 408.

The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Delhi with 1,485 cases, followed by Haryana with 479 cases, Kerala with 314 cases, Uttar Pradesh with 268 cases and Maharashtra with 169 cases. As many as 86.0% of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Delhi alone responsible for 47.04% of the new cases. At least 26 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, increasing the total reported death count to 5,23,869.

India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.74%. A total of 2,723 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 4,25,38,976 across the country. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.70 per cent. According to the health ministry bulletin, India has administered a total of 4,02,170 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,89,23,98,347. A total of 4,71,087 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
