New Delhi: India recorded 2,685 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total count to 4,31,50,215. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 2,158 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,09,335. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.60 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 16,308 accounting for 0.04 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise by 494 cases in the last 24 hours. However, 33 deaths were reported that accounted for 1.22 per cent taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,572. Majority of the deaths were reported from Kerala while Rajasthan recorded only one.

With the administration of 14.39 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 193.13 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

More than 15.71 Cr (15,71,64,775) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
