New Delhi: India recorded 2,568 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,96,062 The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 4,722 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,46,171. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.37 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 33,917 accounting for 0.08 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,251 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 97 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,15,974.
With the administration of 19.64 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.40 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
More than 182.84 crore (1,82,84,94,230) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 17.30 Cr (17,30,61,681) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
