New Delhi: India recorded 2,539 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,98,938. The recovery rate at 98.73 per cent accounted for 4,491 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,54,546. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.35 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 30,799 accounting for 0.07 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,012 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recording 60 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,16,132.
With the administration of 17.86 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.80 crores according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In the 12+ vaccination drive that commenced on Wednesday, more than 3 lakh (3,00,405) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the ministry,2.15 crore (2,15,53,373) Precautionary doses have been administered to adults, HCWs and FLWs.
