New Delhi: India recorded 2,380 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,30,49,974.
The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,231 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,14,479. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.53 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 13,433 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 1,093 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 56 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,22,062.
With the administration of 15.47 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 187.07 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 2.53 Cr (2,53,87,677) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards. 2,37,279 precaution doses have been administered in age group 18-59 years so far.
