New Delhi: India recorded 22,270 fresh COVID infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.21 per cent accounted for 60,298 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,20,37,536. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.08 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 2,53,739 accounting for 0.59 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 38,353 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 325 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,11,230.

With the administration 36.28 lakh (36,28,578) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 175.03 cr (1,75 03,86,834) according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In a landmark achievement for India, over two crore adolescents between 15-18 of age group are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the country.

Taking to Twitter, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the citizens of the country and said, “Young India taking the world’s largest vaccination drive to the next level! Over 2 crore adolescents between 15-18 age group are now fully vaccinated against #COVID19.”
