New Delhi: India recorded 17,073 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 15,208 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,27,87,606. The daily positivity rate climbs to 5.62per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 94,420 accounting for 0.22 per cent of the total number of cases. A rise of 1,884 was recorded in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 21 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,020.
With the administration of 2.49 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 197.11 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Nearly 12 Cr (11,99,66,130) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
