New Delhi: India recorded 1,335 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,918 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,90,922. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.22 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 13,672 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 635 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recording 52 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,181.
With the administration of 23.57 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 184.31crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to the health ministry, more than 184.97 crore (1,84,97,44,495) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 15.62 Cr (15,62,61,306) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, it added.
