New Delhi: India recorded 1,270 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative count to 4,30,20,723. The recovery rate at 98.75 per cent accounted for 1,567 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,83,829. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.29 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 15,859 accounting for 0.04 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 31 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 201 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,035. Of the 31 new fatalities, 25 were reported from Kerala.
With the administration of 4.20 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 183.26 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 1.23 Cr (1,23,75,762) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
