New Delhi: India recorded 1,49,394 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 95.39 per cent accounted 2,46,674 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,00,17,088. The daily positivity rate stood at 9.27 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 14,35,569 accounting for 3.42 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop by 98,352 in the last 24 hours. India’s overall number of COVID-19 infections has reached 41.95 million, the second-highest globally behind the United States.
The financial capital of India, on Wednesday reported a day after the daily cases in the city crossed the 1,000 mark. Meanwhile, the national capital in the last 24 hours logged 2,668 fresh infections with the COVID infectivity rates at 4.3 per cent.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent reported spike in deaths recording 1072 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,00,055. Kerala, with less than 3 per cent of India’s 1.35 billion population, accounts for nearly 11 per cent of the total deaths reported in the country. The state reported 335 deaths, a collation of of deaths from last year.
The health bulletin documented 168.47 crore cumulative vaccinations under the nationwide vaccination drive, including 55.58 lakh administrations in the past 24 hours.
