New Delhi: India recorded 975 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, 4,30,40,947. The recovery rate at 98.64 per cent accounted for 796 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,25,07,834. The daily positivity rate presented a slight rise to 0.32 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 11,366 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise by 175 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent. According to Union Health Ministry, the country also reported four Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total number fatalities to 5,21,747.
The national capital in the last 24 hours traced an increasing positivity rate of nearly four per cent (3.95 per cent) – highest since February 3 recording 366 new cases. With this, while Delhi’s Covid tally has increased to 18,67,572, the death count is at 26,158 with no deaths in a day. With the addition of two coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra rose to 7,08,875, an official said on Saturday.
With the administration of 6.89 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 186.38 cr according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
