New Delhi: India recorded 3,947 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.73 per cent accounted for 5,096 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,40,19,095. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.23 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 39,583 accounting for 0.09 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,167 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 18 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,629.
With the administration of 34,21,962 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 218.52 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the update on Friday morning, over 203.42 crore (2,03,42,87,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 2.40 Cr (2,40,46,140) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,20,734 infected samples. So far, 89.50 crore tests have been conducted.
