New Delhi: India recorded 2,503 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the lowest in 676 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,90,991 The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 4,377 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,41,449 The daily positivity rate stood at 0.47 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 36,168 accounting for 0.08 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,901 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 27 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,15,877.
With the administration of 4.61 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.19 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. More than 182.79 crore (1,82,79,40,230) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 17.38 Cr (17,38,21,446) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
