New Delhi: India recorded 15,754 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.58 per cent accounted for 15,220 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,36,85,535. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.74 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 1,01,830 accounting for 0.23 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 487in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 47 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,253.
With the administration of 31,52,882 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 209.27crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The new fatalities were composed of eight from Delhi, six from Maharashtra, four from Karnataka, three each from Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, two each from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Sikkim and Uttarakhand and 8 deaths reconciled from Kerala.
