New Delhi: On Friday, The Ministry Of Home Affairs, Amit Shah issued guidelines for Independence Day Celebration after looking at the situation of covid-19 pandemic with an increasing number of cases day by day.
MHA asked all the states and governments officers that this year’s independence day celebration and all other events will be web- cast instead of social gathering which will also avoid large gatherings of people in the wake of covid-19 pandemic.
All events and programmes should be conducted in a way which could avoid large gatherings and technology should be used in the best possible manner for celebrating appropriate to the occasion. People who are not able to participate and to reach out to people at large web- Cast will be done with the celebration.
The Home Minister also asked people to strictly follow all preventive measures like maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, proper sanitization and avoiding large gatherings which is all necessary for covid-19 crisis.
Guidelines for Independence Day Celebration 2020:
- At Red Fort flag hoisting ceremony to consist of a presentation of a Guard of Honour by the Armed Forces and Delhi Police.
- PM Modi to unfurl the National Flag followed by the national anthem and 21 gun salute containing PM’s speech and releasing tri-Coloured balloons.
- Rashtrapati Bhavan to have “ At home” reception.
- Performance of public and military pants may be recorded at the place of historical importance and screened during public functions and on social media.
- Functions like tree plantation inter school and inter college debate Quiz Contest etc. will be conducted on digital platforms to maintain social distancing.
