New Delhi: The IMD in a fresh notice on Monday alerts Gadchiroli and Gondia districts of Maharashtra predicting thunderstorms and lightning with heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places.
As water levels rose beyond danger in Sironcha town of Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, the lives of people have been badly impacted as the large swathes of land remain inundated in water.
In contrast to the orange alert for Gadchiroli, Gondia the weather forecasting agency issued a yellow alert for several other districts.
A yellow alert was issued for the financial capital. As the Southwest monsoon advanced, parts of the state were in a beleaguered condition as lake levels rose beyond the required quantum. The city however witnessed no rain on Sunday. The cumulative water levels in the seven lakes supplying water to Mumbai reached around 82 per cent on Sunday.
