KOLKATA: A Saudi Arabian Airlines Cargo flight plying to Hongkong from Jeddah made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport after it developed cracks in the windshield.
As per sources, the aircraft was carrying four crew members along with the cargo when the windshields developed a crack prompting an emergency landing. At around 11:37 am, a full emergency was declared, and co-ordinating with the Kolkata airport authorities the cargo flight landed safely at 12:02 pm.
The aircraft is under inspection and will resume its journey following a repair.
A similar incident was reported earlier at the Delhi airport when a Delhi-bound FedEx aircraft suffered a bird hit soon after take off. The aircraft landed safely and resumed its journey after inspection.
