New Delhi: India recorded 25,166 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.51 per cent accounted for 36,830 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,14,48,754. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.61 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 22 consecutive days.
The number of active cases has reduced to 3,69,846 accounting for 1.15 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 12,101 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 437 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,32,079.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday announced an allocation of Rs 267.35 crores to Kerala under Emergency COVID-19 Response Package-II. The package is dedicated to strengthening the state’s health infrastructure. Additionally, Rs1 crore is also secluded for each district of Kerala for creating a medicine pool.
