New Delhi: Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will hold a high-level meeting with all the states/UTs education ministers, secretaries and chairpersons of state examination boards to discuss the proposals to conduct Class 12 board exams and entrance examinations for professional courses.
The virtual meet scheduled for 11:30 am tomorrow will be chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union Minister for Women and Child Smriti Zubin Irani and Union Minister Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar.
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education and CBSE are expected to review options regarding the conduct of examinations, keeping in mind the safety of the students and the staff.
Writing a letter to all the states/UTs, Mr Ramesh stated that the Department of Higher Education is contemplating upon the finalization of the dates of examinations for institutions of higher learning.
The letter concluded on a lighter note highlighting the effect of the pandemic that led to the postponement of all the State Education Boards, CBSE and ICSE have postponed their Class 12 examinations and National Testing Agency for the year 2021.
