Maharashtra politics: NCP chief Sharad Pawar, MP Supriya Sule and NCP chief and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar have got a big relief from the Bombay High Court. The High Court has dismissed the petition seeking investigation into the illegal permissions given for the construction of Lavasa Hill Station in Pune. The PIL had requested to direct the CBI to register a case for the alleged illegal permissions given for the construction of the hill station in Lavasa, Pune district.
A bench of Chief Justice Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhar observed that petitioner Nanasaheb Jadhav (a lawyer) had failed to produce any legal provision under which a court, in the exercise of its civil jurisdiction, could direct the police to register an FIR.
Jadhav’s PIL requested that the CBI be directed to file a case against Sharad Pawar, Sule, and Ajit Pawar for allegedly granting illegal permissions for the construction of a hill station in Lavasa, Pune district. In February 2022, when Jadhav filed a petition seeking to declare the special permissions granted for Lavasa illegal, the High Court refused to intervene. However, the High Court also noted that Sharad Pawar and his daughter appeared to have exercised considerable influence and influence. In a new PIL filed in 2023 seeking a CBI investigation, Jadhav stated that he had filed a complaint with the Pune Police Commissioner in December 2018, seeking an investigation against Pawar and others. However, the police took no action.
