New Delhi: Hearing the case related to Gyanvapi Mosque, the SC today axed the commissioner in charge of the survey Ajay Mishra after lawyers presenting the Hindu petitioners claimed to have found a Shivling near a pound during the videography. The dismissal was ordered on questions of how the survey details were leaked since the court-mandated filming was supposed to be confidential.
Speaking further on the Shivling, the court in response to a petition by the mosque committee, which sought directions to stop the survey instructed the Varanasi District Magistrate to endure the area of the Shivling was sealed as per law and protected without impeding the Muslims coming in for prayers.
The apex court which was supposed to review the filiming report today granted permission for two days to the commission that said the report was yet to be compiled.
