Madhya Pradesh: The State Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines for the Navratri-Dusshera festival. As per the guidelines, permission is to be sought from the collector before holding Garba sessions. Moreover, Garba is allowed to be held only until 10 pm pertaining to COVID Norms. Ramleela dramas are allowed to be held only with 50% occupancy while Ravan Dahan can be carried out in the traditional manner with minimum gathering.

These guidelines stem from the directions given by CM SS Chouhan on 1st October.  The instruction came at the heels of Hindu organizations protests against the government guidelines on the size of idols and pandals.

The state commenced its preparation for Dusshera on September 21 at the Indore’s Dussehra ground.  Like every year, a 111 feet tall Ravan Effigy is being made pertaining to the COVID guidelines issued by the state authorities.

The state recorded 121 active infections in the past 24 hours. So far, 7,81,953 recuperations have been recorded by the state health department. Roughly 10,522 fatalities have been observed in the state.
