The Greater Noida murder case involving young Nikki Bhati has taken a new turn, as her family has also given a sensational twist by leveling fresh charges against them. Although earlier Nikki and her family had levelled allegations against her husband, Vipin, and his family of torturing Nikki over dowry, now a new twist in the tale has come up, with relatives of Nikki herself pointing accusing fingers at her husband and family.
Meenakshi, the snubbed wife of Nikki’s brother, Rohit, has come out with serious allegations against Nikki’s father, Bikhari Singh, and brother. Married to Rohit in 2016, Meenakshi alleged that despite her father giving her a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and 31 tola gold as a part of a wedding gift, the family of Nikki insisted that a Scorpio SUV should be provided as an add-on marriage dowry. She stated that the harassment was unstopping and even alleged that Nikki and her sister Kanchan had physically beaten her up. Meenakshi says that her mother-in-law and father-in-law also joined the harassment.
She also accused Rohit of abusing her most of the time, saying that he once threatened to shoot her brother. Meenakshi further claimed that she was forced into giving in to two abortions that were against her wishes earlier in her marriage. Excluding herself from the accusations over Nikki’s husband, Vipin, and his family, she said, “They are not like that, at all, they are very well off family.” She further said that her brother, Deepak Bhati had in 2024 had filed an FIR to back her claims.
But Greater Noida police have denied the allegations, with ADCP Sudhir Kumar saying that such evidence is yet to emerge. “We will verify the case number supplied. Nothing presently can be found to confirm these allegations,” he said. One additional senior officer stated that media speculation is proving disruptive to the investigation.
On the other hand, family members of Vipin insisted on a fair investigation, as they stressed that dowry torture could not be ignored by any side. They also pointed to the videos that circulated on social networks where the family of Nikki mistreats Meenakshi, stating that she should also have justice.
