Bhubaneshwar: The Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS) 2023 is a flagship event aimed at propelling the Indian maritime economy by promoting global and regional partnerships and facilitating investments. The third edition of the summit will be held from October 17-19, 2023 in Bhubaneshwar.
The summit is expected to be attended by over 10,000 delegates from over 70 countries, including government officials, industry leaders, investors, and academics. The event will feature a diverse range of activities, including plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events.

The theme of GMIS 2023 is Embracing the Blue Ocean Dream. The summit will focus on a number of key areas, including: decarbonizing maritime transport, accelerating automation and digitalization in the maritime sector, promoting multimodality, promoting cruise tourism and urban water mobility, maximizing India’s strength in maritime professional services, and maritime research, education, and skill development.
The summit will also feature a special session on the Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, which is the long-term blueprint for the Indian maritime blue economy. The vision outlines strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing port facilities, promoting sustainable practices, and facilitating international collaboration.
GMIS 2023 is a significant event for the maritime sector, as it provides a platform for stakeholders from around the world to come together and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The summit is also an opportunity for India to showcase its maritime potential and attract investment into the sector.
