New Delhi: India recorded 3,17,532 fresh infections in the past 24 hours standing as the highest count in 248 days. The recovery rate at 93. 69 per cent accounted for 2,23,990 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,58,07,029. The daily positivity rate stood at 16.41 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 19,24,051 accounting for 5.09 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 93,051 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.28 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 491 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,87,693.
Omicron variant cases tally rose to 9,287 the Union Health Ministry said today morning. Maharashtra has reported 1,860 cases, the most in the country. The national capital reported 13,785 new cases today, 18% higher than yesterday.
