NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate has filed a case against BBC India under Foreign Exchange Management Act for alleged irregularities in foreign funding.
This is not the first time BBC is facing the wrath of Indian Investigation agencies.
A month ago, the income tax sleuths knocked the door of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) offices in Delhi and Mumbai. They carried out a survey that continued for two days where employees were asked to work from home and senior officials were made to stay back.
The raid came weeks after BBC aired a two-part documentary, “India: The Modi Question”, on the prime minister and the 2002 Gujarat riots.
