Four Indian Army soldiers including an officer were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda. At 7:45 PM night of Monday, the encounter started with the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police launching a search operation and cordon at Dhari Gote Urarbagi in Desa forest area.

Major Brijesh Thappa of 10 Rashtriya Rifles was among the four Indian Army soldiers killed in the gunfight last night. He was recently promoted. Besides, four Army personal, including the officer and a police personnel were injured in 20 minutes of exchange of gunfire.

The injured have been evacuated and admitted to hospital for treatment. Their condition was still critical and succumbed to the injuries, said the officials.
