NEW DELHI: India’s Former President Pranab Mukherjee tested positive for the novel Coronavirus infection. He conveyed the news on Twitter and informed about his COVID-19 positive test results on the morning of August 10.
According to the information, he had visited hospitals for a different work but it turned out that the 84-year old Pranab Mukherjee was infected with Coronavirus. He has requested everyone who has made contact with him in the past one week to isolate themselves. He also advised them to get tested for the pernicious infection.
Pranab Mukherjee on Twitter said “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19.”
Minutes after Pranab Mukherjee posted the tweet, wishes for his speedy recovery poured on social media.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote “Please take care sir. We are praying for your speedy recovery and good health @CitiznMukherjee (sic).”
Union Minister Piyush Goyal wrote”I pray for the well being and speedy recovery of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. I am confident he will be successful in recovering from the virus quickly. Wishing him strength and good health,”
Pranab Mukherjee was the 13th Indian President accommodated from 2012 until 2017. He also served as the union minister of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
