Madhya Pradesh: As Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Congress Party have declared their candidates for the by-elections in the Prithvipur assembly seat of Niwari district, many veteran leaders from both parties arrived in the area. While both these parties are busy campaigning and urging the people to vote in their favour, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh reached Orcha via Jhansi along with the State Secretary of the State Congress Committee, Kiran Ahirwar.
Further, the former CM left for Niwari Collectorate, where Nitendra Singh Rathore, a Congress Candidate submitted his nomination. For the same nomination, BJP has declared Dr Shishupal Singh Yadav as its candidate. Before joining BJP, Dr Yadav had contested from Samajwadi Party in the 2018 elections.
It is expected that BJP will file their nominations tomorrow besides the two already filed. Narendra Kumar Singh, Niwati Collector said that candidates can submit their nominations latest by October 8 at office hours. Tight security arrangements have been made in the collectorate’s premises and at the same time, Corona guidelines are being followed.
Voting will take place on October 30. Earlier in March this year, BJP lost the Damoh assembly election due to an internal feud. The BJP has formed 14 committees to deal with internal differences, identification of local issues, and ticket distribution.
