A Ghaziabad resident’s experience with online shopping turned sour when he received stones instead of the smartphone he had ordered from Flipkart. The man had placed an order for an Infinix Zero 30 5G smartphone in Golden Hour with 256 GB storage, worth ₹22,000, on March 28. Surprisingly, the package was delivered the same day.
However, upon unboxing the package, the man was shocked to find stones neatly packed inside instead of the expected phone. Subsequently, he attempted to return the package, only to have his request rejected by the company.
Expressing his frustration, the man shared his ordeal on social media, highlighting the irony of the situation and questioning the reliability of online shopping. The post quickly gained attention, with many expressing disbelief at the incident.
In response, Flipkart issued an apology, stating, “We’d never want you to get anything but what you ordered and are extremely sorry about this instance. To assist you further, kindly provide us with your order details via private chat so that they remain confidential here. Awaiting your response.”
Additionally, the company cautioned customers to beware of fake social media handles impersonating their brand, advising them not to respond to such accounts to protect their interactions.
This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with online shopping, emphasizing the importance of verifying the authenticity of the seller and being vigilant while making purchases online.
