G7 Summit: PM Narendra Modi will not attend the G7 Summit to be held in Alberta, Canada. This will be the first time in six years that Prime Minister Modi will not attend the G7 Summit. The G7 countries will meet in Alberta, Canada from June 15 to June 17. However, India has not yet received an official invitation. However, there is a strong possibility that Prime Minister Modi will not go to Canada. The reason behind PM Modi not going to Canada is said to be the Canadian government’s support for Khalistan.

The Canadian spokesperson for the G7 did not confirm that India would be invited to the summit. Tensions between India and Canada have increased significantly since the year 2023, due to which former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had also adopted a very harsh attitude towards India. This year, Canada is going to organize the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta. Canada has not announced the guest list of who it has invited, but there are many reports in the Canadian media that official invitations have been sent to South Africa, Ukraine, Australia, and Brazil.

G7 Member Nations

The G7 has Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States as its member countries. This year the European Union and many more countries are expected to join the summit. There is no information about Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the G7 amid tensions between India and Canada.

The then Trudeau government had accused India of being involved in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, for which no evidence has been provided till date. The Indian government also rejected these allegations.
