Ranchi: A terrible incident occurred last Sunday evening in Xtreme Bar at Ranchi, where a youth of West Bengal, namely Sandeep Pramanik, working as an Operator playing music, was shot dead by a customer. The gruesome assault, which was recorded in a video that is now viral on various social media platforms, showed the naked man with his face covered, pointing an AK-47 rifle at Pramanik’s head and shooting him dead at such close range as to qualify as a contact shot before escaping from the scene.
The Senior Superintendent of Police of Ranchi, Chandan Kumar Sinha, described the event, pointing out that likely the conflict between the bar and bouncers led to an incident of shooting. The police have not been dormant in their attempt to track down the suspect; however, there has been confirmation from SSP Sinha concerning the follow-up of investigations. DSP Pramod Mishra, going further in exposing the details, explained that the suspect was identified after knowing that he was a criminal who had been involved in criminal activities and had undergone incarceration before this incident.
Hearing the events from bar operator Vishal Singh, what would have led to a fight between two different groups to its violent conclusion and one arrest by the police. Singh said he was ‘shocked and saddened’ by the death of Pramanik and noted that the Police should arrest the culprit promptly.
Force officials, including the SSP, SP, City DSP, Chutia and Kotwali police station officers, have been in pursuit of a proper and thorough investigation of the incident. The policemen are currently sifting through the official CCTV footage and grilling the bar staff to get further information on the chronological order of incidents before the shooting.
The community is still mourning Pramanik’s demise, which paints the picture of violence’s reality even in this day, as every lady feels the need for an armed bodyguard. In the course of investigating, police officials are always willing to bring justice on the side of the victim and ensure that justice prevails upon the perpetrator of the brutal act.
