New Delhi: The nation has raged over the farmer’s protest for the last few months. Now, after Greta Thunberg accidentally posted a picture of a “toolkit” targeting the Indian governance, there is more weightage to the farmer’s protest now.

Disha Ravi, one of the editors of the “toolkit” shared by Greta has been arrested by Delhi police without prior warnings and investigations. The Delhi Commission for women has thus filed a ‘suo moto cognisance’ against her arrest.

The notice by DCW read, “As per media reports, she was arrested by the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on February 13 allegedly for supporting the farmer’s protest. It has been alleged in the media by some activists that she was taken to Delhi from Bengaluru by the Delhi Police with no disclosure of her whereabouts, not even to her parents”.

They also demanded a copy of the FIR lodged against climate activist Disha Ravi by the Delhi police. In the notice, it was further stated, “It was also alleged that she was brought to Delhi from Bengaluru without presenting her before a local court for transit remand. It has been further alleged in media reports that Disha Ravi was produced before the court in Delhi without a lawyer of her choice being present in the court”.

As the matter got public weightage heavily, the Delhi police confined the requested details to the DCW heads.
