New Delhi: Jaspreet was seen climbing the ramparts located on the sides of the red fort during the republic day protest by the farmers. The Swaroop Nagar resident, Jaspreet was part of the farmers’ protest rally on Delhi’s red fort area on January 26.
The Delhi police had pictures of almost 200 protestors from the day of the protest. A statement from the police says, “We have released the pictures and the process of identification (of the people) has been started”.
Delhi police arrested one more accused last week named Maninder Singh. Regarding him, Delhi police said in a statement, “The arrested person was seen in a video swinging two swords at Red Fort with intent to motivate/radicalize and energize the violent anti-national elements indulging in brutal assault/attack on police persons on duty with swords, khandas, iron rods, axes, barsaas, dundas, etc and damaging historical monument Red Fort on Republic Day 2021”.
The farmers have been protesting for the eradication of the three farm laws since august last year. On the occasion of republic day, they organized a protesting rally in the red fort area where several farmers and police were injured in a clash between them. Now, the Delhi police have sought an agenda to arrest the identified accused persons from the protest site.
