On December 18, Ranjodh Singh, another farmer, killed himself near the Shambhu border. The deteriorating health of 70-year-old farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been fasting to death at the Khanauri border since November 26, worried Ranjodh Singh.

Since February 13, when security forces stopped their march to Delhi, farmers have been stopped at the Shambhu and Khanauri border posts between Punjab and Haryana under the banners of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha.
