Kochi: Kochi-based tattoo artist, Sujeesh PS was arrested by the Kerala Police on Sunday over allegations of rape, sexual assault, and molestation made by at least 6 women.
The incident came to light after, his recent client an 18 year old girl recounted her horrendous experience at Inkfected Tattoo Studio through her social media post which went viral in hours and was backed by several other victims later.
The police said he surrendered late Saturday night and was initially taken to the Cheranalloor police station for questioning. The arrest was sought after the 18 year old lodged a complaint. Earlier, on Sunday his workplace and residence were seized as the post went viral.
Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said a total of seven women have approached him alleging that Sujeesh had sexually assaulted them while they went to his studio to get inked. “We will be taking the 164 statements of the complainants starting tomorrow. As of now, we have six FIRs registered against the accused, who was initially on the run. All are non-bailable offenses. And surrendered only after he was cornered by the police from all sides,” he said on Sunday pressing the media.
Earlier this week, the teenage victim opened a can of worms through a Reddit post exposing inking artist’s and raising fear amongst girls.
