New Delhi: An important meeting of the BJP organization is going to be held in Delhi next month. In the meeting, there is a possibility of sealing the extension in the tenure of party president JP Nadda. BJP sources said that in the meeting of the National Executive, the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections and the ongoing organizational process will also be discussed.
The biggest issue in the meeting will be to postpone the party’s organizational elections in view of the upcoming assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. JP Nadda’s term is ending next month. It is evident that Nadda’s term will be automatically extended due to the postponement of BJP’s organizational elections. His three-year presidential term is going to end next month.
Internal elections in at least half of the state units of the party should be over before the process of selecting the next national president of the party can begin. Meanwhile, there is speculation that the process of internal polls will begin only after the Lok Sabha 2024 elections are over by the month of May. Apparently, Home Minter and JP Nadda’s predecessor Amit Shah had also got an extension before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
