Exit polls for Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections will be declared this evening. According to the Election Commission, the exit poll results will go live from 7 pm immediately after the end of polling in Haryana.
The assembly election results for both Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana will be announced on October 8, but people are anxiously waiting for the exit polls which will reveal the results of the voting in Haryana. Voting for the assembly elections of Jammu & Kashmir took place in three phases, while in Haryana it was decided to vote in a single phase on Saturday.
According to the Election Commission, the total voting in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir was 63.88 %, in which the participation of men was 64.68 %, women were 63.04 % and third-gender voters were 38.24 %. Candidates being eyed in Jammu and Kashmir elections include – NC leader Omar Abdullah (Ganderbal), BJP’s Jammu & Kashmir President Ravinder Raina (Nowshera), BJP’s Devender Singh Rana (Nagrota), PDP’s Iltija Mufti (Srigujwara). Bijbehara), and PDP’s Waheed Para (Pulwama). There are 1,031 candidates in the fray of 90-member Haryana Assembly, where the BJP has been in power since 2014, including 101 women.
There is a direct contest between the ruling party and Congress in the Haryana Assembly elections. Prominent candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections includes Chief Minister and BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini, state Congress stalwart and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala. All eyes will be on former wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who joined the Congress party last month and is contesting her first election.
A total of 20,632 polling stations were set up in Haryana, 115 polling stations were managed by women, 114 were managed by young government employees and 87 were managed by disabled employees. Apart from the BJP and Congress in Haryana, the major competing parties are the Aam Aadmi Party and the INLD-BSP and JJP-Azad Samaj Party alliance.
Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm in 90 constituencies of Haryana. More than 2 crore voters, including 8,821 centenarians, are to cast their votes at 20,632 polling stations.
